		<description>Mary,
I did use a mix. Knorr vegetable soup mix. I am not so adventurous as to create my own yet. There is just something about those reconstituted, dried veggies that I like. I used to use Lipton vegetable soup mix, but it disappeared from my regular store. I just check the ingredients and trust. No problems so far. I actually pretty much follow their recipe as it happens to be about the same as mine. It is 1.5 cups of sour cream - unless it is Lipton, then 1 cup - I think it is too rich with any mayo. One 10 oz box of frozen chopped spinach squeezed dry. One to 1/2 a can finely diced water chesnuts (gives the mysterious crunch) and a couple of green onions finely chopped. One bag of mix. Stir together and chill for a bit.

Good luck with your fall garden. Wish I could do one for fall and winter. It gets too cold here for anything but spinach and other greens. Well, it used to. Now with global warming I am planning on planting a mango tree and maybe a banana. By the time they are big, the climate will have gone crazy and I will be able to move them outdoors. It's all about sustainability. :)

Kanchana,

Thanks for the tips! I do go to Chicago often enough that I will have to check out a market there too. I usually go to Swagath Foods in East Lansing for my spices, but will check out Bombay Grocers next time I am in A2.

I have to say, the fruit pizza was a hit. I am eating a slice for breakfast...it is healthy, fruit, cheese.....goes great with home roasted coffee.

		<description>Hi Ginger!

Love the pictures of your garden. The vegetables are so fresh and beautiful, I'm sure the taste is just as spectacular. The cake is decorated so nicely! I think your guests will really enjoy that one.

As for your question on my site about grocery stores in Ann Arbor, well for my Indian groceries I usually go to the one down the street from me called Bombay Grocers, and I believe they are a chain with another store on Ford Rd in Canton. Pretty comprehensive with all the spices, and lentils etc. They have some selection of Indian vegetables but NO where near as good as Toronto. (Chicago has a better selection than Detroit). For my regular vegetables I go to Meijer! Cheapest and freshest quality I find, though there is a place around the corner from me called 'The Produce Place' that has great vegetables but horrendous prices.

Happy 4th of July!

<description>Oh, I am envious of your garden. Our summer garden didn't make it because of the drought here in Alabama, but I'm planning ahead for a fall and winter garden.

The cucumber salad looks delicious. I'm going to have to try that. How do you make your spinach veg dip? I've been using a mix, but I'm a bit leary that there may be some gluten in it.
